The Beef Tech Breakfast is an opportunity to connect beef and forage producers with entrepreneurs developing technology to reduce labour, improve animal health, increase forage production, and monitor herds, among other common goals in our industry. While technology is growing in the crop sector, and livestock technology is developing outside Canada, our conditions are unique and necessitate additional developments that fit our weather conditions, terrain, and budgets. Newer innovators often also need the input of a number of producers to provide a product that can suit the needs of a variety of producers in Canada, and potentially the world. After a keynote presentation from Jeremy Welter, APAS, breakout groups gather at round tables to meet innovators who are looking for feedback, pilot testers, and even initial clients if their products are closer to general marketing. This event has been held during Agribition in the past four years, but is moving to the Saskatchewan Beef Industry Conference, giving companies and entrepreneurs more access to forward thinking and innovative producers across the province. Previous participants, such as Farm Simple, have used this event to connect to producers as well as livestock and forage specialists to further develop its products.
