Julie Mortenson, Classroom Cattle

Julie grew up in Northern Alberta on a small commercial cattle ranch. Now Julie and her husband Logan reside on his family farm in Nokomis, SK with their two young daughters.

The family farm is a mixed operation; roughly 6000 acres of grains and oilseed production, 250 head of commercial cows, and a seedstock herd of approximately 50 purebred polled Hereford cattle. Julie is the Agricultural Producers Association of Saskatchewan rep for her RM, a director on the Saskatchewan Hereford Association Board, the creator and sole operator of "Classroom Cattle", an alumnus of the Canadian Western Agribition Next Gen Mentorship program, and the first elected Youth Observer for the Canadian Beef Check Off Agency and the Canadian Cattle Youth Council. She also works off farm full time as an Ag Business Specialist at Blairs in Nokomis.
