From the Chair

This is my personal thank you to each and every participant at the inaugural Saskatchewan Beef Industry Conference, which was convened in Saskatoon from January 20 to 23, 2010.

With some 250 participants in attendance each day, and the support of over 40 sponsors and trade show exhibitors, the SBIC was an unprecedented success. I share this positive outcome not just because of the impressive number of attendees and industry support; more so because of the response to our theme ‘Securing Beef Beyond 2020: A Collective Approach’.

This was evident in the content and focus of the presentations; in the instructive dialogue among presenters and participants; in the encouraging and enlightening feedback submitted via the SBIC Evaluation Forms; and the upbeat tone of the event!!

Notwithstanding the many challenges our industry faces and will continue to face, the sense of commitment emerging from the event indicates we need to continue on this collective path and plan for the future.

Therefore, stay tuned to this website as we plan for SBIC 2011!
